Michigan blew an eight point lead in the second half against UCLA to drop their record to 4-8 on the season. This loss was tough, especially for how well the Wolverines played. Turnovers kept Michigan in the game as they won that battle with only 8 compared to 17 for UCLA. In the end, missed opportunities cost us the game. There were a lot of easy shots around the rim that we just couldn't put in the basket and going 6-31 (19%) from the three point line isn't going to cut it.
Manny Harris' youth showed in this game as he struggled against a tough defensive team. He went 3-12 from the field and finished with 11 points. DeShawn Sims had another solid game with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Udoh filled the stat sheet as usual with 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Even though we lost the game coach Beilein has to be happy with the effort from his squad today. To play so well for 30 minutes against a top 1o team is quite an accomplishment for a Michigan team that is so inexperienced. Now they just have to learn to finish. Keep your heads up fellas, because with efforts like today, wins will come sooner than later. Until next time, Go Blue!
